| Campaign Description: | On March 10, 2008, HB 2705 was signed into law by Governor Janet Napolitano.
This is the first state law which prohibits contracting with those corporations materially assisting the government of Sudan in its campaign of genocide on the people of Darfur.
HB 2705 was introduced by Representative Kyrsten Sinema , and eventually was co-sponsored and voted for by all 90 Arizona legislators.
These bills are based off of the Sudan Divestment Task Force’s targeted divestment model.
