Campaign Description:	In 2007, a targeted Sudan divestment bill was voted down in committee. In September, 2007, the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho began offering Sudan Free fund options for beneficiaries investing into defined contribution plans (401(k) plans). This is the first such offering of public fund in the United States. Acknowledging that a majority of Sudan Related Investments are in defined benefit plans, Idahoans actively pursued binding targeted Sudan divestment legislation for the 2008 session which manifested itself in Senate Bill 1367. On February 20th, Senate Bill 1367 advocating targeted divestment based on the Sudan Divestment Task force model was denied referral in the Senate State Affairs Committee by a 5-4 vote.
