American Stores That You Will Not Find In Africa
If you are planning to visit Africa so that you can be enlightened and increase your travel collections etc…, and you plan to travel light, or lighter than what is usually meant by traveling light, think again. You might be thinking that Africa is an extension of the United States where are able to buy additional clothing and accessories on the next corner. Here are some of the American stores that you will not find in any of the banana republics of Africa
Macy’s
You might purchase all your clothes from this clothing retail magnate, or you simply call every clothing retail store Macy’s. You might want to get as packed up as you can with your Walter Drake brand clothes that you might need on your trip but also remember to stay light. If you run out of clothes to wear, there are a lot of native clothing that you can buy, this will let you blend in, and also makes the locals feel that their culture is appreciated.
Sears
This mail to order catalog service which supply you of your basic house kits, is not found in Africa. There are department stores around and most of them sell everything from masseys scissors to bicycle, so you don’t have to worry should you need a garden hose all of a sudden.
WalMart
This retail giant gives you everything that you need from clothing to food to Maryland Square shoes. Do not be surprised if you are not able to find the in Africa. If you ever need something while you’re in Africa that you usually get at WalMart chains, don’t fret, because there are department stores that offers the same products. But they may not offer them in large volumes, it can run out. Just be prepared to jump from one store to another.
Traveling in other countries that is so much different than ours can be a challenge to our capability in thinking for a solution. If say you decide to go to Africa, make sure that you know the American stores that you will not find in Africa so that you can make amends with the problems that might pop up along the way.
