Start by personally divesting from Sudan

Consider making your own investments free from the companies identified by SDTF as "Highest Offenders" in Sudan. Begin with screening your own investment portfolio for investments in Sudan.

Mutual Funds

If your mutual fund is exposed to any of the "Highest Offenders" in Sudan, consider sending the following template letter to your mutual fund manager or company, asking them to remove the "Highest Offenders" in Sudan. If your mutual fund manager or company refuses to remove the "Highest Offenders" from the fund, consider replacing it with a mutual fund that does not have holdings in any of the "Highest Offenders" in Sudan. Don't forget to let your mutual fund manager know why you are switching investments (feel free to use the following template letter).

Individual Investments

If you do have individual investments in any of the companies in the Sudan Company Report, consider writing the company asking that it cease its problematic behavior in Sudan. Contact Us for specific company template letters and company contacts.

Contact the Genocide Intervention Network for state/city campaigns, or STAND for university/high school campaigns. A Task Force/STAND representative will work with you to create a customized plan of action for your institution! You will be able to...

      o Research your institution to find how it may be invested in Sudan.

      o Submit a targeted Sudan divestment proposal to your institution's investment manager (i.e. treasurer, board of trustees,
       controller/comptroller, president, state legislator).

      o Mobilize a grassroots coalition to support your proposal.
